NMMT will get nod to purchase 30 electrical buses, 18 charging stns at Rs 42cr, Auto Information, DFL

NMMT committee chairman Ramchandra Dalvi mentioned, “To boost the use of electric buses as an eco-friendly initiative by the Union government, NMMT had sent the proposal to the department of heavy industry for the project to be financed under the central government’s Faster Adoption and Manufacturing of Electric (& Hybrid) Vehicles in India (FAME-1) scheme.”
The centre offers 60% subsidy to authorities and semi-government organisations in the event that they purchase electrical automobiles for use for public transport. One other 10% subsidy is offered for bus charging facility.
Dalvi mentioned, “On July 27, the central government had approved the applicable subsidy for the project.” As per central authorities order, work order must be issued by September 30 or the venture approval for the venture subsidy will get revoked, he added.NMMT supervisor Shirish Aradhwad mentioned, “The feasibility of the project was given prime importance before submitting it to the committee.”
Aradhwad mentioned the Rs 30 crore budgetary allocation was made for purchasing electrical and different passenger buses, which has additionally been handed within the civic common physique. “We have received estimate from several e-bus manufacturers,” mentioned Aradhwad.
